A Silhouette InstaLift® procedure with Dr. B begins with a one-on-one consultation to assess patient goals, gauge skin condition, and review realistic expectations about what the treatment can achieve. Suitable InstaLift® candidates need good skin quality that is not too thick or too thin, and displays obvious signs of drooping and sagging. The initial consultation is also used to chart suture placement options and insertion points that will be used during the procedure.
During your actual procedure, Dr. B will mark out insertion points and facial areas targeted for lifting and inject a local anesthetic into the targeted areas before inserting the sutures. Dr. B gently inserts a needle to a depth of about 5 mm, and carefully guides it through the mid-face region’s subcutaneous tissue. The needle is extracted at each bi-directional exit point, and the next suture is likewise inserted. Once Dr. B has successfully completed the planned lifting and contouring, the procedure is complete, usually within about 45 minutes.
Some patients experience a minor inflammatory tissue reaction after the procedure due to the body’s initial response to the foreign material. Other potential symptoms include minor pain, swelling, and bruising. Any side effects beyond the above-listed ones should be reported to Dr. B as soon as possible.
