® Weight Loss Program Might Be Right For You

Why the ProLon® Weight Loss Program Might Be Right For You

If you struggle with your weight, you are definitely not alone. Consider that obesity levels in the U.S. are at epidemic levels, with a record 31.9% of the U.S. adult population classified as clinically obese, according to the United Health Foundation. This percentage represents an 11.9% increase since 2000 and a 20.3% increase since 1990. Clinical obesity is defined as having a body mass index (BMI) of 30.0 or higher. This is based on reported height and weight. Researchers believe that obesity can significantly increase the risk for contracting several diseases and health conditions, including:

  • Hypertension (high blood pressure)
  • Type 2 diabetes
  • Coronary heart disease
  • Stroke
  • Various cancers
  • Gallbladder disease
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Sleep apnea
  • High LDL cholesterol/low HDL cholesterol

Florida’s obesity rate has been roughly tracking the national rate, though it dropped a couple of percentage points below it over the past few years. Florida’s current obesity rate stands at 28.4%, a 9.7% increase over 2000, and a 14.8% increase over 1990. With 24.2% of its adult population classified as obese, Colorado has the nation’s lowest obesity rate, while Mississippi, with a 39.7% rate, ranks last among the 50 states. Ranked among other states, Florida comes in at 9th. While this seems respectable, the rate still indicates that obesity is at epidemic levels.

In both Florida and the rest of the country, obesity is highest in adults ages 45-64. In Florida, 32.9% of this population is obese, compared to 25.6% of those 18 to 44 and 27.4% of those 65 and older. Florida obesity rates by gender are roughly the same, with 28.9% of men categorized as obese, compared to 27.9% of women.

Turn to ProLon® Professional to Help You Lose Weight

Naples, Florida medical weight loss physician Dr. Diane Brzezinski, D.O., has witnessed this expanding obesity epidemic first hand and knows how difficult it is for her patients to lose weight or otherwise maintain a healthy weight. As such, she is always on the lookout for novel weight loss treatments that show real promise. Dr. B believes that she has found one such new treatment with ProLon® Professional, and she is pleased to offer this innovative diet program to her southwest Florida-area patients.

ProLon® is a diet program that mimics fasting for five days of every month. With more than 20 years of research and exceptional results achieved in clinical trials, a three-month session of ProLon® on average helps a patient lose seven pounds of fat and reduce their BMI by about 4%. This can add up to a reduction in waist circumference by up to 1.6 inches and deliver a significant boost in metabolic and cardiovascular health. In fact, ProLon® has been issued five patents for wellness benefits and has filed 19 others.

The program works by tricking the body into entering a fasting state, which researchers believe helps power numerous health benefits, including weight loss. Other health benefits from water-only fasting include:

  • Decreased blood pressure
  • Cellular rejuvenation
  • Enhanced metabolic function
  • Decreased triglyceride and cholesterol levels
  • Improved blood sugar levels
  • Reductions in inflammation

ProLon’s® “5-Day Fasting Mimicking Diet” uses a five-day meal plan comprised of nutritious food that your body does not recognize as food. This allows your body to enter a fasting state while your body can still absorb healthy nutrients. According to researchers, the five days of ProLon® “fasting” per month provide many of the same benefits of an everyday heart-healthy diet when conducted over a few months.

Ask Dr. B About Peptide Therapy for Weight Loss

In addition to ProLon®, Dr. B offers her patients two different peptide therapies that can help promote weight loss and long-term weight management. As short-chain amino acids that help maintain cellular function and other biological functions, peptides have emerged as a new natural tool to help repair, heal, and improve the body’s cellular function.

Among the numerous peptide therapies Dr. B now offers at her clinic are Sermorelin and Semaglutide. Sermorelin helps optimize the body’s growth hormone levels, improve hormonal balance, enhance energy, burn fat, increase lean muscle mass, enhance sleep quality, and provide other benefits. Semaglutide helps the body reduce blood sugar levels. This aids in the reduction of body fat by slowing digestion and suppressing appetite. Both therapies are combined with a proper diet and exercise to optimize weight loss results.
